Since I was a child I have wanted a weeping willow tree. A few years back, I gave in to my desires and purchased one and planted it in the front yard. I have enjoyed watching it grow and have taken joy from its appearance.
This week, workers from the county road commission cut two large branches from my tree. They also cut a large branch from the tree next to it. It ruined my weeping willow. It would take a miracle for it to weep again.
Now I have two choices: cut down the remainder of the tree or look at its ruin each time I leave my drive. I am hurt, dismayed and angry at this.
By what right does the road commission come to my home and deface my tree? May I sue them for this misuse of their power? Do I have any recourse?
