2010.04.14 Sally Canfield: Support library levy

Written by David Green. Posted in Letters

In 1964, the citizens of Fayette knew the importance of education and books.  That’s how this library came to be.  People donating money and supporting the building of OUR library.  It has been many years since, and our library is still here helping the community with all their needs.  What would happen if the library was not here?  Our patrons would have to travel to Archbold or Wauseon to get a good book, use a computer, or even send a fax.

With the declining revenue from the state, our library is trying to keep afloat so we can continue to be here to provide educational services to our community.  The taxpayers have never been asked to support the library through an operational levy before, and now we need your help.

The benefits from the library far exceed the minimal cost to homeowners.  I hope the citizens of Fayette see the need to come to our rescue so we can continue providing excellent service to our community.  Please vote yes on Issue 3.
