2010.01.27 Jim Heiney: Seneca recall

Written by David Green. Posted in Letters

I read with interest the article in the Observer from the lady who wrote the  letter Re: “Not about the Fence,” but used the word nine or 10 times in her statement. I have tried to be impartial in my thinking about this whole “mess,” but it’s difficult when I was in attendance at the meeting where the writer of this letter was “stunned”...twice...by something that never happened.

If there are 105 people who are “not happy” with what they were told happened at that meeting, it’s not because they were there, but what they were led to believe by the letter writer/recall applicant.

There was no improper conduct by the Clerk or Treasurer at that meeting.

The only thing a recall will accomplish is to take two highly qualified people out of their positions and replace them with who knows what. This type of personal vendetta toward our board members discourages qualified residents to step forward in trying to serve the township.

If the writer of the “not fence” letter thinks $700 per month is too much money for all the work done and time spent by these people, she’s wrong.

I urge the residents of Seneca Township to go the Poll and vote “no” on the recall Feb. 23, 2010.
