2009.09.23 Dayna Cordts: Seneca Township meeting

Posted in Letters

I would like to thank all of my neighbors for showing up at the Seneca Township meeting on Sept. 14 in support of me, and what you believe is right. I do, however, apologize for the way you were treated by some members of the township board.

I thought it was completely disrespectful and unprofessional for the township treasurer to continually gasp and roll her eyes at the residents when they were trying to address the board with their concerns, and for the treasurer and the township clerk to whisper back and forth while the residents were trying to express their feelings to the board. But thank you all for your support. It makes me feel good about where I live, that this community can stand together for one another.

I would also encourage Seneca Township residents to get involved in what’s going on with our township board. It would be a good idea for the residents to start going to the meetings that are held on the second Monday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at the Seneca Township hall. The residents need to be aware of what’s happening in their community, so please take an interest in what’s happening in our township.

I would like to commend the township supervisor, John Gould. He really spent a lot of time researching the issue so that he could make an informed decision. I think he’s going to do good things for this township and the residents here.
