We received a letter critical of police chief Larry Weeks for telling us how to make a Works Bomb, which we then printed in the Observer last week.
The chief did not provide that information to us. We took 30 seconds to look on the internet and learn how to make the explosive device. Criticism should be directed at the Observer and not at the chief.
The letter-writer was challenged to explain how to make a Works Bomb based on the article in last week’s paper and she agreed that a recipe was not really printed. She, too, would have to do some research before making one.
We’ll repeat one item from last week’s story. The police would appreciate receiving a timely report of an explosion from citizens living close to an incident. Officers are continuing to track down the source of the occasional explosions that have been heard in the community over recent months.
