Here’s the FBI’s summary:
At today’s press conference, Chief Larry Weeks, Morenci P.D., announced that John Skelton is currently being detained in Ohio on parental kidnapping charges. Skelton’s bond has been set at 3 million dollars. Skelton has refused to waive extradition from Ohio to Michigan and an extradition hearing has been scheduled for December 14 at the Lucus County Courthouse. The search for the missing boys will continue through Friday evening after which the general searches being conducted by volunteers will be scaled back. Chief Weeks noted that volunteers from across the country have assisted in the search for the children and he expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the volunteers. He noted that the searches by the volunteers will not resume on Saturday morning. The searches will continue after Friday evening but will be conducted by public safety officials based on specific leads and information. Chief Weeks has requested that people living within the vicinity of Morenci search their properties for the children paying particular attention to areas affording concealment. Anyone needing the assistance of public safety officials in searching their property can contact the Morenci Police Department.
