Wayne Everette Gamble, Sr., 63, of Hillsdale, Mich., died Jan. 27, 2006 at Schand’s University in Gainesville, Fla.
He was born Dec. 14, 1942 in Romulus, Mich., to Benjamin A. and Viola Gamble. He married Alice Bryan on Dec. 4, 1993 in Hillsdale, and she survives.
Wayne was employed at D.C.A., later known as General Mills, in Hillsdale for more than 33 years, retiring in June 2003. He was a fabricator, loved to build, and was a great auto mechanic. He and his wife loved to travel by motorcycle.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Wayne (and Tammy) Gamble, Jr. of Quincy, Mich., and Laverne (and Sheryl) Gamble of Hillsdale; two daughters, Aloma Welch of Coldwater and Irene (and Richard) Field of Pensacola, Fla.; two stepsons, Randy (and Sue) Bryan of Fayette and Gary (and Savina) Bryan of Morenci; four stepdaughters, Bonnie (and Kenneth) Kime of Morenci, Shirley (and David) Aiken of Mount Morris, Mich., Terry (and Frank) Storrs of Fayette and Julie (and John) Wyse of Lyons, Ohio; two brothers, James (and Betty) Gamble of Lancato, Fla. and Clifford (and Norma) Gamble of Mosherville, Mich.; three half-brothers, Clyde (and Joyce) Miller of Columbus, Ga., Bill (and Mable) Miller and Paul (and Maradell) Miller, both of Morenci; 25 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mary Gamble; a half-brother, Alvin Miller; a grandson, Nathan and a great-granddaughter, Misty.
Funeral services are scheduled at 11 a.m. Thursday at Anderson Funeral Home in Adrian with Pastor Paul Webster officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Morenci. Visitation is planned from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Anderson Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the homeless.
