Anita “Skeeter” Dangler, 94, of Morenci, Mich., died June 14, 2007, at the Lenawee Medical Care Facility in Adrian.

She was born July 27, 1912, in Swanton, Ohio, the ninth child of William and Lulu (Snyder) Batdorf. She married Donald F. Dangler on April 24, 1938, in Angola, Ind. He preceded her in death in 1964.

Anita’s nickname, “Skeeter,” was picked up from her childhood. She retired to  Morenci in 1989. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Morenci. Prior to her retirement, she resided in Florida, where she worked as a dental assistant.

Skeeter is survived by one sister, Lenore Smith of Morenci, and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, Donald, she was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Abe, Roy, Leona, Glen, Hazel, Elsie, and Merle.

Visitation is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 16, at Eagle Funeral Home-Charles Fink Chapel in Morenci. Burial is planned at Fulton Union Cemetery near Delta, Ohio, at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lenawee Medical Care Facility.
