Shirley Ann Daugherty, 86, of Hudson, Mich., died, Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at Hospice of Lenawee in Adrian.

She was born Jan. 13, 1927, in Detroit, Mich., the daughter of William and Hazel (Douglas) Pearson.

Shirley worked as a cook and bus driver at Hudson Area Schools and retired in 1993, with more than 25 years of service. She enjoyed decorating cakes, reading, gardening, crocheting and flowers.

Shirley is survived by two daughters, Barbara Swain of South Lyon, Mich., and Christine (and Michael) Root of Morenci; three sons, Lee (and Ann) Daugherty of Hudson, Steven (and Karen) Daugherty of Britton, Mich., and Randall (and Jill) Daugherty of Ludowici, Georgia; one sister-in-law, Anna DeRop of Saginaw, Mich.; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Gladys Cores, Betty Kowalski and Hazel Gagacki; and two brothers, Earl and William Pearson.

Memorial services are planned at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, at Eagle Funeral Home in Hudson, with Rev. Fredrick Neuman officiating. Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Monday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of Lenawee or Domestic Harmony of Hillsdale.
