Galen D. Liby, 81, of Hudson, Mich., died Nov. 6, 2012, at Toledo Hospital in Toledo, Ohio.
He was born Dec. 24, 1930, in Munson, Mich., the son of Dorsa and Irene (Howell) Liby. He married Mildred Gillespie on March 14, 1953, in Morenci, Mich., and she survives.
Galen was a lifelong Hudson area resident and farmer. He retired in 1997 from Waldron Industries after 28 years of service. He enjoyed antique tractors and farming.
In addition to his wife, Galen is survived by one daughter, Valerie (and Tim) Sword; one son, Jeffrey (and Ann) Liby, all of Hudson; two sisters, Helen Munroe of Cleveland, Ohio; Wilma Johnson of Toledo, Ohio; four grandchildren, John, Jeffrey and Elizabeth Liby and Ethan Sword.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Doyle Liby.
Funeral services are planned at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at Eagle Funeral Home in Hudson with Pastor James Backus officiating. Interment will follow in Lime Creek Cemetery in Hudson. Visitation is scheduled from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday.
Memorial donations are suggested to the American Heart Association or St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church of Adrian, Mich.
