Robert L. “Bobby” Lucas, 68, died June 8, 2011 in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
He was born Aug. 3, 1942, in Fayette, Ohio, to Leonard and Audrey Lucas.
Bobby graduated from Gorham Fayette High School in 1960. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was an active member of the American Legion, Jaycees and the Eagles.
Bobby worked at Fayette Tubular Products for 10 years, and also worked part-time as a bartender and for the Village of Fayette until 1989, when he moved to Myrtle Beach, S.C. He spent the last 22 years working at Sea Mist Resort where he made everyone’s day a little brighter.
Bobby is survived by three sisters, Eloise (and Melvin) Wyse of Fayette, Ohio, Lois Hill of Milan, Mich., and Martha Cochran of Conway, S.C.; two brothers, Don (and Linda) Lucas of Fayette and Jim (and Margaret) Lucas of Bryan, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Vera Hopkins; and a brother-in-law, Bill Hill.
A memorial service is scheduled at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 19, at Fayette Christian Church.
