The evening program provided a mix of stories, songs, dancing, crafts and snacks Monday evening. The program is offered at 5:30 p.m. every Monday for five more weeks. The program is designed for three to five year olds and their family.

Underwood, Dave

David E. “Dave” Underwood, 66, of Sylvania, Ohio, longtime motorcyclist, was enjoying his favorite pastime, riding his motorcycle, when he died due to the result of an accident.

He was born July 22, 1944, to William E. and Leona R. (Rice) Underwood in Morenci, Mich.

Dave served in the U.S. Army in the 82nd Airborne Division during the Vietnam Conflict. Over the years, he worked hard and effortlessly at numerous car dealerships within the Toledo area.

Dave enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, golfing and riding his motorcycle. He was an avid University of Michigan football fan. Dave was a member of the Sylvania Moose Lodge and American Legion Post #468.

His family will remember him as a loving and honorable husband, father, grandfather, brother and best friend.

Dave is survived by his wife of 41 years, Ruth (Meade) Underwood; son, David E. Underwood, Jr., of Sylvania; daughter, Milissa Ann Yeagley of Vero Beach, Fla.; twin brother, Donald L. (and Sally) Underwood of Blissfield, Mich.; five grandchildren, David III, Ali, Lierin, Emma and Charlotte. Preceding him in death were his parents.

Visitation is scheduled from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
