Barbara Rickard, 91, of Morenci, Mich., Friday, Aug. 13, 2010, at Bixby Medical Center in Adrian, Mich.

She was born on Jan. 7, 1919, in Chesterfield Twp., Ohio, the daughter of Roy and Bertha (Muller) Jackson.  On Jan. 17, 1939, in Auburn, Ind., she married Norman Rickard.  He preceded her in death May 5, 1992, after 53 years of marriage.

Barbara had lived in Morenci for the past two years, moving from Waldron, Mich., where she had lived for 55 years. She attended the Waldron Wesleyan Church and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution – Lucy Wolcott Barnum Chapter, Wright Endeavors Extension Club and the Waldron Literary Club.

Survivors include three daughters, Sherrell (and Ed) Kimpel of Bryan, Ohio, Kay (and Dennis) Whetro of Pioneer, Ohio, and Phyllis Rickard of Adrian; four grandchildren, Stephen and Scott Kimpel and Theresa and Brenda Whetro; and a sister, Roberta Keim of Largo, Fla.

Besides her husband, Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Burnham Jackson.

Funeral services are planned at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 16, at the Waldron Wesleyan Church, with Rev. Duaine Snyder officiating.  Burial will follow at Waldron Cemetery.  Visitation is scheduled from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Eagle Funeral Home-Charles Fink Chapel in Morenci.
