Betty L. Climo, 85, of Fayette, Ohio, died May 5, 2010, at her home.
She was born in Elkhart, Ind., Jan. 23, 1925, to the late Edison and Amanda (Shaffer) Abbott. She married Charles Climo in 1953, in Fayette, and they shared 57 years of marriage.
Betty graduated from Leo High School in Leo, Ind., in 1943. She retired in 1993 from GTE in Bryan, where she had served as a telephone operator for 30 years. Betty was an active member of the Fayette Nazarene Church.
Surviving Betty are her husband, Charles; two nieces, Carolyn (and James) Shell of Logansport, Ind., and Patricia (and Terry) Richard of Bremen, Ind.; a sister-in-law, Irene Abbott of South Bend, Ind.; and several great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Rev. Harvey Stahl, and a brother, Robert Abbott.
A graveside funeral service for Betty is planned at noon Monday, May 10, at the West Olive Cemetery near Elkhart, Ind. Rev. Winston Hatcliff will officiate. Visitation is scheduled from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Eagle Funeral Home-Barrett Chapel in Fayette.
