John Brink, 39, formerly of Morenci, Mich., died Wednesday, April 21, 2010, in Moreland, Ga.

He was born Nov. 11, 1970, in Adrian,  Mich., the son of Gale and Lois (Leigh) Brink.

John was a graduate of the Morenci Area High School and furthered his education at Ferris College and Owens Community College for law enforcement.  John was a truck driver and was formerly employed as a deputy at the Lenawee County Sheriff  Department.

Survivors include his significant other, Carrie Myer, and son, Dustin, of Jacksonville, Fla; his parents, Gale and Lois Brink of Wauseon, Ohio; one sister, Teresa (and Ben) Poorman of Wauseon; one brother, Aaron (and Patricia) Brink of Wauseon; maternal grandfather, Robert Mattson of Louisville, Ky; paternal grandmother, Carolyn Brink of Zephyrhills, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Norma Jean Mattson, and paternal grandfather, John Leo Brink.

Funeral service are planned at 11 a.m. Monday, April 26, at the Eagle Funeral Home-Charles Fink Chapel in Morenci.  Burial will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Morenci. Visitation is scheduled from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

Memorial contributions are suggested to a trust fund set up for Dustin Brink  at the State Bank & Trust in Wauseon, Ohio.  Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
