DeWayne G. Fredrick, 87, of Fayette, Ohio, died Monday, Feb. 6, 2006, at Heartland of Wauseon.

He was born June 27, 1918, in Fulton County, Ohio, to Harry and Myrtle (Schaffner) Fredrick. He married Virginia Dorsey on June 4, 1939, in Wauseon, Ohio, and she survives.

DeWayne was employed at Fayette Elevator for several years and retired from Bil-Jax in Archbold. He was a very active member of Fayette Christian Church and dearly loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His favorite hobby was crafts.

Besides his wife DeWayne is survived by two sons, Richard (and Nedra) Fredrick and Terry (and Rhonda) Fredrick, both of Fayette; two grandchildren, Kristie (and William “Kip” ) Humbert and Jon (and Denise “DJ” ) Fredrick, both of Fayette and five great-grandchildren, Storm, Colt, Slayde, Rayce and Braelyn Humbert.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Von Dana Fredrick.

Visitation is scheduled today (Wednesday) from 3 until 8 p.m. at Eagle Funeral Home in Fayette.

Funeral services are planned at 11 a.m. Thursday at Fayette Christian Church with Rev. Mary Jo Bray officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant View Union Cemetery in Fayette. Memorial contributions may be made to Fayette Christian Church or Hospice of Heartland.
