Hazen J. Mandly, 81, of Wauseon, Ohio, died Feb. 14, 2006 at Heartland of Wauseon.
He was born Nov. 1, 1924 in Archbold, Ohio, to Elgar and Lucy (Grime) Mandly. He married Sally Keifer on July 7, 1995 and she survives.
Prior to his retirement, Hazen owned and operated the Shell Service Station in Wauseon. He was a member of the New Apostolic Church in Morenci, Mich. He was also a member of the Fulton County Sportsman’s Club and Ducks Unlimited.
Besides his wife, Hazen is survived by two step-daughters, Dona (and James) Maxfield of Litchfield, Mich., and Deborah (and James) Potts of Defiance; one stepson, Donald Flenner, Jr., of Toledo, Ohio; eight grandchildren; a brother, Lowell Mandly of Tucson, Ariz.; a sister, Mary Lou Steward of Wauseon, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Marvin Mandly.
Funeral services were Feb. 17 at Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon with Pastor Bruce Clark officiating. Burial was in St. Caspar Cemetery in Wauseon. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Arbor Day Foundation.
