Travis Janish completes basic training 2012.04.11

Army Reserve Pvt. Travis A. Janish graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, in Columbia, S.C.

During the nine weeks of training, Janish studied the Army mission, history, physical fitness, tradition and core values. He received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare, bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, the military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises.

Janish, a 2010 Morenci Area High School graduate, is the son of Lester Janish of Morenci.
