The evening program provided a mix of stories, songs, dancing, crafts and snacks Monday evening. The program is offered at 5:30 p.m. every Monday for five more weeks. The program is designed for three to five year olds and their family.

    MORENCI’S three Skelton brothers were remembered with both tears and laughter last week during a candlelight vigil at Wakefield Park. Several people came out of the crowd to give their recollection of the boys who have now been missing for five years.

Morenci teams compete in Science Olympiad 2012.03.21

Morenci’s fourth grade team placed second in the 2012 Tri-County Science Olympiad at Siena Heights University. The third grade team came in fourth.

Morenci’s third grade team produced two first-place scores among the eight events. The Science Jeopardy team of Kyleigh Tompkins and Kim Stretch, along with the Clay Boats team of Aiden Dominique and Nolan Pummell, each finished on top.

Other third grade participants were Casey Craig, Carollynn Davis, Katie Amos, Ellie Price, Kyle Hudson, Brennan Osborne, Jon Lampson and Jacob Spradlin.

Teachers Kelly Bush and Robin Borton served as coaches.

The fourth grade team finished with five second-place finishes.

Team members were John Dominique, Thomas Spencer, Omar Cortes-Otero, Connor Easter, Larkyn Swimmer, Riley Haas, Gregory Moore, Walker Whitehouse, Olivia Foster, Haylee Valentine, Riley Williams and Madisyn Jarrell.

Beth Wright and Natalie Zuvers served as coaches.
