Cheryl Barber Spires, Extension Educator at the Fulton County office of Ohio State University Extension, was recognized by the Ohio Association of Extension Professionals (OAEP) for her work in Family Consumer Sciences Educational Programming.
Spires received the Distinguished Service Award during the Ohio State University Extension annual conference at the Ohio Union in Columbus last month.
The Distinguished Service Award is given annually by the Ohio Chapter of the National Extension Association of Family Consumer Sciences to county extension educators who work in the Family Consumer Sciences area. The award recognizes the honoree’s outstanding contribution of time and effort to county and statewide educational programming. Spires specializes in nutrition education providing such programs as Dining with Diabetes, Be Healthy Now: Fulton County, and employee wellness lunch and learn sessions.
