Criminal charges are not expected  in connection with an incident in which a local truck driver died, said Preble County (Ohio) Sheriff Mike Simpson.

Myron Hallett, 59, of Fayette, was found dead May 26 near a fuel island at the Travel Centers of America truck stop near the intersection of U.S. 127 and I-70.

Police believe Hallett was accidentally struck by one or more vehicles or had a medical event causing him to collapse at the station before or after he was hit.

Police said it was raining when the incident was reported, making it difficult for motorists to see Hallett in the dark lot.

Sheriff Simpson told the Palladium-Item newspaper that investigators are preparing to send their report to Preble County Prosecutor Martin Votel who will make a determination on whether criminal charges will be pursued.
