Mat Johnson joins Fayette council 05.04.2011

Written by David Green.

Fayette has a complete village council again following the appointment of Mat Johnson to fill the seat vacated by Tommy Molitierno.

Council members met in a special session to discuss the two people who offered to fill the role—Johnson and Brad Merillat—but had to wait until April 25 to make the appointment, after Johnson submitted his resignation as a village employee. Johnson was a part-time employee in the public works department.

Johnson was appointed unanimously, with Paula Ferguson absent. Ferguson has been granted a temporary leave of absence from council duties.

Johnson will complete the council term that expires Dec. 31, 2013.
