An Adrian man was seriously injured in a stabbing incident early Saturday morning east of Canandaigua.

Michael Crowe, 27, of Adrian, was with three other people in a vehicle that got a flat tire on Canandaigua Road at the intersection of Medina Road near the National Wildlife Refuge land.

While waiting at an abandoned house for a friend from Adrian to arrive, Crowe got into a fight with another passenger, Abel Medoza, 34, who allegedly stabbed Crowe on the left side of the rib cage.

Medoza fled on foot and two other occupants from the vehicle aided Crowe. He was transported to the nearest residence and Morenci Area EMS was called at 12:40 a.m.

Crowe was transported to Bixby Medical Center and later transferred to Toledo by ProMedica Air where he underwent surgery. Crowe was listed Monday in stable condition.

A felony criminal warrant was issued for Mendoza, who is considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone will information about Medoza is asked to call the Lenawee County Sheriff’s office at 517/263-0524.
