Jacob Spradlin won the drawing at the Morenci Elementary School Fun Night to “Spend a Day with the Chief.” He cashed in his prize last week.
Jacob, 7, visited Morenci chief Larry Weeks on Thursday and took part in a variety of activities. The two drove around the city on patrol and took a trip to the county courthouse to complete some business.
While In Adrian, they visited the sheriff’s office and the dispatch center, then drove back to Morenci and stopped in the Observer office for a visit.
After lunch that day, they were scheduled to do some fingerprint work.
Jacob received a pair of 911 suckers at the dispatch center.
“I should save them for emergencies,” he said. “When there’s an emergency, they will be my reminder candy.”
Jacob is the son of Larry and Jamie Spradlin of Morenci.
