Four advance in HOSA competition 3.31.10

Four Morenci LISD TECH Center students earned awards at the Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) Regional Conference March 5, at Washtenaw Community College.

All four will advance to the state competition next month in Traverse City.

 The TECH Center’s HOSA members are enrolled in careers in biochemical technology, dental aide, EMT, health care and nursing preparation.

Travis Janish of Morenci teamed with Kasee Johnson from Madison to earn a silver medal in the EMT competition.

Liz Gautz earned a silver medal in the researched persuasive speaking competition in the health careers area.

Zachary Brigman earned a bronze medal in the bio-technology competition, and Mariah Bovee placed fourth in the same contest. Both are enrolled in the TECH Center’s biochemical technology classes.
