The annual Fayette area five-mile Walk for Life is scheduled at 11 a.m. April 2, Good Friday.

Walkers should meet at the South Shelter House at Harrison Lake State Park to begin the trek into Fayette.

The walk is planned each year on Good Friday using the following verse as inspiration: “May we walk in His footsteps…to meet Him face to face.”

“We walk as a sign of our respect for life and to celebrate the life God has given each of us,” said Anita Van Zile, Our Lady of Mercy youth leader.

A Lenten luncheon will be provided along the way at no cost. Participants should dress for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes.

The walk is expected to end about 2:45 p.m. at Our Lady of Mercy parking lot, 409 E. Main St.

For more information, or to make a reservation for a group’s participation, contact Van Zile at 419/237-3019.
