    CHILDREN at Stair District Library’s Family Story Time toss scarves into the air during an activity. The evening program provided a mix of stories, songs, dancing, crafts and snacks Monday evening. The program is offered at 5:30 p.m. every Monday for five more weeks. The program is designed for three to five year olds and their family.

    MORENCI’S three Skelton brothers were remembered with both tears and laughter last week during a candlelight vigil at Wakefield Park. Several people came out of the crowd to give their recollection of the boys who have now been missing for five years.

Lifters helped raise more than $1,600 for the family of the late Devin Wyse, a former Morenci power-lifter who graduated last year. Morenci yearbook staff earns award 02.17.2010

Twenty-two students were part of Morenci’s school yearbook staff that was given Honorable Mention Certificate of Recognition by Taylor Publishing.

As mentioned in an article last week, the award was presented for “dedication, effort and accomplishments” in yearbook design and content.

In addition editor and head designer Katelyn Joughin, the staff included illustrator Karley Schmidt; photographers Kathleen Barron, Roxanne Shankster, Amy Gilman, Dana Joughin, Meribeth Keefer and photo editor Molly Foss; copy editors Denae Merillat, Jade Pfund and Megan Cox; business manager Nathan Grieder;

and general staff members Sam Majahrowski, Mary Rodriguez, Justin Drummond, Gavin Vanderpool, Zac Burrow, Chanler McCaskey, Tommy McVay, Danyel Brown, Emily Kutzley and Nicki Lavigne.

Several members of last year’s staff are back for the 2009-10 yearbook production.
