James Topps and Amber Brighton of Hudson have announced their engagement.

James is the son of Jim and Debbie Topps of Adrian. He is a Morenci Area High School graduate and is the manager of Black Swamp Equipment.

Amber is the daughter of Terry and Starr Brighton of Tipton. She is a Tecumseh High School graduate and is one of the owners of Bright Ideas Home Daycare.

The couple is planning an Oct. 10, 2009, wedding in Hudson.
