Want to see a splashy fireworks display later this month at the Morenci Town and Country Festival?

Although nearly half of the $5,000 total cost has been collected so far, contributions to the fireworks fund are still needed to help pay for the event.

Fireworks are scheduled on the night of Saturday, June 27, at dusk, but the skies will remain dark unless donations are collected to help pay for the event.

Joe Farquhar, along with his wife, Kristie, and Megan Pike and Andi Rorick, make up a committee trying to raise funds for the  fireworks show.

If the entire cost can be paid through donations, the festival committee will be able to use its funds for other festival events.

Tax deductible donations can be dropped off or mailed to Rural Urban Insurance Agency, 224 W. Main St., Morenci. Checks should be made payable to Morenci Fireworks.
