Morenci’s Downtown Development Authority (DDA) has accumulated enough funds to offer grants to businesses interested in enhancing the appearance of downtown buildings.

Any business with the DDA boundary is eligible to apply for up to $250 to be used in exterior work.

Morenci Area Chamber of Commerce members voted Thursday to add an additional $250 to any grant given by the DDA.

The grants may be used only for the purchase of supplies and not for labor.

Projects could include painting, window and door replacement, sign replacement and awnings.
