Morenci school reunion date chosen 2.18

Written by David Green.

The committee organizing the Morenci Area High School all-school reunion has chosen a few events for the celebration scheduled Sept. 25-27.

The reunion weekend will kick off at the Friday night homecoming football game. Former members of the “M” Club (Letterman’s Club) will be recognized at the game and a mass band assembly is planned to include current and former school band members.

An alumni banquet is planned at the school on Saturday night and special recognition is planned for three classes: 1959, celebrating its 50th anniversary; 1969 celebrating its 40th; and 1984 celebrating its 25th.

Additional activities will be announced later for Sunday, Sept. 27.

The events are open to anyone who attended Morenci schools.

Volunteers are still needed to help plan and carry out the reunion events.

For more information or to volunteer to help, call Bill Van Valkenburg at 517/436-3605.
