Several people have asked Morenci Education Foundation president Bill Van Valkenburg about a school reunion this year.

Now it’s a different question he wants to hear asked. If there’s going to be a reunion, he needs to hear this query: Can I help with the planning?

An all-school reunion is planned every five years for Morenci alumni and 2009 is the year for the next event.

However, considerable planning is needed in order to create a successful event, and Van Valkenburg knows it’s a lot more than he can handle alone.

He’s scheduled an organizational meeting in the board of education office at 7 p.m. Monday to establish a planning committee. Anyone interested in helping but unable to attend the meeting should call Van Valkenburg at 517/436-3605.
