A single-car accident early Oct. 1 resulted in the death of the driver.

Bradley Lewis, 34, was pronounced dead on the scene after he lost control of his 1997 Honda. The vehicle was traveling north toward Morenci at 1:35 a.m. on Ohio State Route 108 when it veered off the east side of the road and struck a tree.

The accident occurred north of Fulton County Road T. Due to the impact with the tree, said a Morenci firefighter who was at the scene, the vehicle’s motor was found about 30 feet away.

The Morenci Police Department was called to assist at the scene of the accident while awaiting the arrival of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

A Morenci officer remained on the scene until about 3 a.m., but was called again at 5:30 a.m. to assist in locating the residence of the victim.

Although Lewis was listed as a resident of Fostoria, he was residing with a relative on Weston Road.
