Tailgate party planned 9.4

Written by David Green.

When Morenci’s old rival Hudson comes to town Friday night for football, the Bulldogs’ athletic booster group intends to raise the spirit of fans with a tailgate party.

Starting at 5:30 p.m., Morenci fans are invited to drive into the middle school parking lot to have dinner together. The boosters will provide hot dogs and paper products. Each family participating is urged to bring a dish to pass.

The event marks the first true home game of the season after last week’s opener that was played at Adrian College. Friday is also Parent’s Night when senior athletes and their parents will be introduced on the field before the 7 p.m. game.

There’s also a volleyball match that night when Morenci plays host to Fayette at 4:30 p.m. Varsity and JV matches will be played concurrently to insure a finish before the Parents’ Night ceremony gets underway.
