Hidden Lake Gardens Children's Day 7.10

Written by David Green.

Children’s Garden Day at Hidden Lake Gardens is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. The annual event teaches children about nature and gardening.

Hands-on activities and demonstrations will include a wagon ride to the arboretum, a pond life exhibit, farm animal displays, stories, music and crafts. Young visitors will have an opportunity to paint on a giant mural wall and keep cool on sprinkler hill.

The Amateur Astronomy Club of Jackson will lead a night time star gazing event from 9 to 11 p.m. Saturday evening. The Gardens’ location—away from city lights—provides a good setting for star gazing.

Telescopes will be set up and knowledgeable members will guide visitors in their observation of the summer sky. A short lecture on astronomy is also planned.
