The evening program provided a mix of stories, songs, dancing, crafts and snacks Monday evening. The program is offered at 5:30 p.m. every Monday for five more weeks. The program is designed for three to five year olds and their family.

Morenci's Wirick Foundation awards scholarships 5.14

The board of directors of the Evelyn and Ronald Wirick Foundation have awarded $59,300 in scholarships for the 2008-09 academic year.

2008 Morenci Area High School graduates who were awarded scholarships are Kelby Allen, Brooke Barrett, Josiah Fallot, Keri Frost, Jessica Lietzke, Adam Ries and Justin Swett.

Past graduates now attending college who were awarded scholarships are Madelyn Green, Jediah Hall, Sarah Hoadley, Brittany Joughin, Nicholas Lucas, Ryan Lucas, Brittan Masters, Brett McDowell, Lucas Patton, Jill Pfund, Alison Ries, Ainslee Williams and Austin Wolf.

The Evelyn and Ronald Wirick Foundation scholarships are available to Morenci Area High School graduates or graduating seniors who intend to apply for admission to and demonstrate the desire to successfully complete at least a four year college curriculum. Each year the directors shall determine the number and amount of scholarships to be awarded, which may vary among applicants.
