A Lyons man died in a fire in his home Monday night, but law enforcement authorities are not yet clear on what happened.
Richard Trabbic, 60, lived in a one-story, wood frame house at 105 Fulton St. in Lyons. A law officer on patrol noticed smoke coming from the home about 7:30 p.m. and called for the fire department.
Heavy smoke was present in the home when firefighters arrived.
Lyons-Royalton fire chief John Arquette told the Toledo Blade that the fire appeared to have started in the living room. No cause of the fire was determined by press time.
An autopsy of the victim was ordered.
Fire departments from Morenci and Metamora were called to assist in fighting the blaze.
