Nearly 3,000 customers from Morenci to Clayton were without power for an hour Monday when a transmission line fell.

Terry DeDoes of Consumers Energy said a leaning pole near Dowling Highway northwest of Morenci caused a transmission line to fall at about 3:35 p.m. Monday. Substations in Morenci, Clayton and Seneca Township were affected by the outage.

Power was restored in just under an hour for 2,057 Consumers customers and an additional 884 Midwest Energy Cooperative customers. Midwest obtains power from Consumers in that area, said company spokesperson Patty Nowland.

DeDoes said that repairs were scheduled to be made Tuesday with no interruption of service.
