A 30-day period for public comment begins today regarding construction of a proposed monopole telecommunications tower near Fayette.
Environmental Resources Management (ERM) from Solon, Ohio, is handling the public comment information. A notice in this week’s paper asks for comments “regarding potential effects from this site on historic properties,” however, Pat Hendrix of ERM explained that the phrase “historic properties” is generic wording used in the federally required notice and does not imply that the tower will be built property of a historic nature.
The proposed location is on the west side of State Highway 66, not too far south of Gamber Road at edge of the village. The property address nearest to the location is the Kuhn residence at 13931 State Highway 66, but Hendrix wasn’t aware of the property owner’s name.
