Francis Shaffer, 89, of Clayton, Mich.,  died Jan. 9, 2013, at Magnum Care in Adrian, Mich. 

He was born April 23, 1923, in Seneca, Mich., the son of Herman and Mertle (Perry) Shaffer. On May 18, 1946, in Lyons, Ohio, he married Fern Sentle and she survives.

Francis was a lifelong farmer and mechanic.

Funeral services are planned at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at the Eagle Funeral Home-Charles Fink Chapel in Morenci.  Burial will follow in the Lyons Cemetery.  Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday.
