Borton, Keith "Chester"

Keith H. “Chester” Borton, 54, of rural West Unity, Ohio, died Dec. 2, 2011, surrounded by his family and loved ones. 

Chester was born July 12, 1957, in Montpelier, Ohio, the son of Gary H. and Janet C. (Figgins) Borton. He married Rosemary Vander Horst on July 23, 1988, at their home and she survives.

Chester was employed by Norfolk Southern Railroad for 28 years and also by the Williams County Highway Department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cutting wood, gourd painting, weekend projects, and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by  his mother, Janet, of Alvordton, Ohio; one sister, Vickie Colon, of West Unity; five brothers, Randy (and Vicky) Borton, of West Unity, Denny (and Cathy) Borton, of Talmadge, Ohio, Jeff Borton of West Unity, Mark (and Toni) Borton, of Montpelier, Ohio, and Tony (and Kelley) Borton, of Cygnet, Ohio; 14 nieces and nephews, many aunts, uncles and cousins, several in-laws, and many cherished friends.

He was preceded in death by one son, Brian Jay; his father, Gary H. Borton; and his grandparents, Clair and Lucille Borton and Devillo and Juanita Figgins.

A celebration of Chester’s life is planned from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at Krill Funeral Home, 860 W. Mulberry St., Bryan, Ohio.

Memorial donations are suggested to the family for distribution to a number of local charities.
