Eileen Mills, 76, of Memphis, Mo, formerly of Morenci, Mich., died June 3, 2010, at her home near the Farmer’s Lake Campground in Scotland County, Mo.
She was born Dec. 25, 1933, in Alvordton, Ohio, the daughter of Clifford and Mazie (Douglas) Clark.
Eileen married John Mills on Aug. 22, 1953 in Adrian, Mich., and he survives.
She loved spending time with her family, fishing and serving as the caretaker of the Farmer’s Lake Campground. Her hobbies included volunteering for the Metro Parks of Toledo, Ohio, demonstrating 19th century craft skills such as blacksmithing, forging, coppering, weaving, wool spinning, quilling, candle dipping, bread making, wood carving, canning, rush weaving, making tools and wood turning projects.
She is survived by her husband, John; children, Richard and (and Karen) Mills of Sutter, Ill., Mary Mills (and special friend Gary Clark) of Hamilton, Ill., Eileen (and Mike) Garrison of Orland Park, Ill., Jackie Boman of Napoleon, Ohio, Kathleen (and Timothy) Murdock and John (and Shelly) Mills, all of Perrysburg, Ohio; four brothers and sisters, Myron (and Betty) Clark, Maurice Clark, Douglas (and) Harriet Clark, and Vedetta Crater, all of Michigan; 13 grandchildren, Keith and Nicole Mills, Lee Mills, Sheena Clark, Melissa Webb, Amy McDonnell, Melinda Boman, Amanda Boman, Amber Boman, Cody Boman, Sarah Murdock, Dominik Mills and Ryan Mills, and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, a brother-in-law and a sister-in-law.
Graveside services are planned at 2 p.m., Sunday, June 6, at the Gorin Cemetery. Pastor Carrol Davenport, Hospice chaplain, will officiate.
