Robert “Bob” Clark Lawrence, 72, of Mesa, Ariz., died Feb. 7, 2010, at Hospice of the Valley, after a lengthy illness.
Bob was born Dec. 28, 1937, in Owosso, Mich., to Kenneth E. and Helen M. (Clark) Lawrence. On Dec. 11, 1956, he married Randi L. Hunt. She preceded him in death Feb. 8, 1998. On July 18, 1999, he married Roseann Lockett.
Bob graduated from Lyons (Ohio) High School in 1957. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He was employed in construction in his early life, and sales later in life. In July 1969, he was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and served as an elder in different congregations in Michigan and Florida.
Bob enjoyed sports, traveling and spending time with his family. He had many friends who admired his sense of humor and his genuine and humble disposition.
Bob is survived by his wife, Roseann, of Mesa; six daughters, Tammy Barnes of Charleston, S.C., Leisa (and Bob) Boswood of North Pole, Alaska, Mary (and Bob) Boehmer of Bellevue, Mich., Diana (and Dennis) Holmes of Homer, Mich., Bobbie (and Ralph) Esten of Phoenix, Ariz., and Jennifer (and Mike) Shrubb of Kane, Penn.; step-children, Brenda (and Jim) Geier and Allen (and Melodee) Turk of Fairbanks, Alaska; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers David Lawrence, Kenneth Lawrence and Colin Lawrence; sister, MaryDonna Ferguson; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his first wife, Randi, he was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Jeanne Eaton.
A graveside service will take place in August at Woodlawn Historic Cemetery in Toledo, Ohio.
