Frank Joseph Sedlar, 78, of San Jose, Calif., died July 21, 2006, after a battle with cancer.

Frank was born Nov. 5, 1927 in Montpelier, Ohio. He lived in San Jose since 1963.

He retired from the U.S. Navy and General Electric Co. He was a member of the Los Gatos Masonic Lodge. He was a devoted father, loving grandfather and wonderful friend who always offered a friendly smile and a helping hand.

Frank is survived by a daughter, Linda (and Paul) Neuman; a son, David (and Brenda) Sedlar; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Martin Sedlar and a sister, Dagmar Blachowski.

Memorial services were July 27 at Darling & Fischer, Chapel of the Hills, in Los Gatos, Calif. Burial was in Los Gatos Memorial Park.
