Fayette village council 2011.08.31
Fayette village council is hoping to land some state funding for street resurfacing. Council heard the first reading Aug. 24 of an ordinance to give administrator Amy Metz the authority to seek funds through the Issue 2 program.
Council also approved a motion to sell unused and obsolete items at the Fulton County auction scheduled Sept. 24. Items will include unclaimed bicycles.
Council approved the use of village property for two events in September. The annual Music Fest is scheduled in the park Sept. 17. The park board will be joined by the Sons of the American Legion Post 143 in sponsoring the event.
Fayette’s Fall Fest is planned downtown the following week, Sept. 24.
FOREMAN—A committee that included former village administrator Dennis Richardson met Aug. 22 to review the seven applications for the village foreman position to oversee streets, grounds, parks and utilities.
The position is expected to be filled by the middle of September.
SEWER LINES—Camtech, the company engaged in viewing and cleaning village sewer lines, has proposed an amended agreement and fee schedule due to the unexpected level of cleaning needed.
The company has found the lines to be in excellent shape but heavily filled with silt and debris. Cleaning is taking much longer than a typical job.
The Public Works committee was scheduled to meet with a representative from Camtech and from Arcadis, the village’s engineering firm.
