Morenci school board 2011.08.03
Morenci school staff members continue to make changes for the second year of a combined middle school and high school administration.
Board of education members Monday approved a revised student handbook that combines middle school and high school policies into one document.
A few revisions to the dress code and discipline procedures were changed to bring consistency between the two schools, said principal Kelli Campbell.
Superintendent of Schools Michael Osborne stated his appreciation for the time several staff members spent to create the combined policy book.
“It should make their job easier by spending time on it now,” said board member Ivy Hutchison.
She praised those creating the revised handbook for clearly laying out the steps and consequences for not conforming to the school rules.
At the previous board meeting, a proposal was announced to combine the two school offices to have the administration operate out of one location, but no decision has been made.
BIDS—The approval of fuel, bread and milk bids was tabled until a later date pending additional information.
RETIREMENT—The retirement of Hilda Jones, director of technology, was accepted.
