The five-year anniversary of the return of Fayette’s FFA program was marked by six students earning State FFA Degree awards.
The State Degree is the final step before reaching FFA’s highest award, the America Degree.
Fayette’s State Degree winners were Clay Burkholder, Mackenzie Fruchey, Sarah Kovar, Kalley Martin, Darrell Randall and Reba Rash. The six were honored at the April 9 FFA Banquet.

Star Chapter awards were presented to Noelle Goodson—one of 80 members of the National FFA Choir—and Alec Hylander who served as a club officer. The award is given to second-year club members.
Reba Rash was selected as the outstanding junior. She is described as always ready to help. She served as vice president.
Clay Burkholder was chosen the outstanding senior member.
Farm Credit Service 110% Award went to Raven Joughin.
For demonstrating the most emphasis on leadership, scholarship and agricultural experiences, Darrell Randall earned the DeKalb award.
The Kellen Keiser Memorial Award was presented for the first time this year. Kellen was known for his love of FFA, his ability to “light up the room” with his smile and knack for creating laughter.
Kellen’s parents, Tina and Kirk Keiser, presented the award to Patty Hookstadt for best demonstrating Kellen’s traits and following Kellen’s view of life.
