Fayette FFA awards presented 4.21.10
Several awards were announced last month at the Fayette FFA banquet.
Scholarship awards went to Jessie Torres (4.0 GPA); Darrell Randall, Clay Burkholder, Reba Rash, Jon Boesger, and Sarah Kovar (3.5-3.99); and Heather Cuff, Raven Joughin, Tyler Keefer, Emily Logston, Allison Cuff, Spencer Keefer, Noelle Goodson, and Jacy Lewellen, Alexa Kessler, Andrew Smith, Nathan Seiler, Alex Hylander, Zayne Colegrove, Chase Hookstadt, Taylor Curry, Quintin Keefer, Mackenzie Fruchey, Cole Burkholder and Cady Stockburger (3.0-3.49).
Quintin Keefer, Jacy Lewellen and Eric Makula received camp scholarships to assist with the cost of FFA Camp this summer.
Six members will attend the Washington, D.C., Leadership Conference. The Fayette FFA Alumni gave four $100 scholarships and the Fayette FFA also gave all members attending a $100 scholarship. Darrell Randall, Clay Burkholder, Reba Rash and Patrick Mellott received both scholarships. Amanda Gilmore and Jon Boesgar received $100 from the Fayette FFA.
Throughout the year members participated in a variety of activities and received points toward the Points Award. This award was given to first-year members Juan Gonzalez, Joel Storrs, Allison Cuff, Hanna McCabe, Alec Hylander, Kellen Keiser, Noelle Goodson, Sydney Brown, Ruben Rodriguez, Emily Logston, Alex Villareal, Alexa Kessler, Chase Hookstadt, Jacob Torres, Zayne Colegrove, Makayla Phillips, Patrick Mellott, Spencer Keefer, Cady Stockburger, Heather Armstrong, Daniel McNamara, Cole Burkholder, Maeghan Curry, Kyler Hootman and Raven Joughin.
Second-year Points Awards went to Jerry Minzey, Jessie Rodriguez, Amanda Gilmore, Jessie Torres, Sarah Kovar, Andrew Smith, Nathan Seiler, Jacy Lewellen, Eric Makula, Mackenzie Fruchey, Reba Rash, Quintin Keefer, Jon Boesger, Zach Chittenden and Tyler Keifer.
Third-year Points Awards went to Amber Scott, Darrell Randall, Taylor Curry, Clay Burkholder, Heather Cuff, Jacob West and Tyler Keefer.
Citrus Sale awards went to the top three sellers: Cady Stockburger, third at $474; Reba Rash, second at $717; and Eric Makula, first, at more than $800.
Honorary Chapter Awards were presented to high school principal Dan Feasel and Fayette FFA Alumni president Hilary Opdycke.
The Outstanding Service Award was presented to Kirk Keiser of Farm Credit Services for his company’s contributions to the FFA Chapter.
Miss Wise presented her awards, including Star Greenhand, Noelle Goodson and Patrick Mellott; Star Chapter Farmer, Amanda Gilmore and Reba Rash; Outstanding Junior, Clay Burkholder; and Outstanding Senior, Jacy Lewellen.
The DeKalb Award—awarded to a senior with emphasis on leadership, scholarship, and agricultural experiences—was presented to Heather Cuff. The Farm Credit Service 110% Award—given to a member who puts the most effort into the chapter to make it better—went to Darrell Randall.
FFA officers for the next school year are Darrell Randall, reëlected presiden; Clay Burkholder, vice president; Jon Boesger, reëlected treasurer; and Alec Hylander, assistant treasurer.
Other officers are Kellen Keiser, student advisor; Amanda Gilmore, sentinel; Jessie Torres, secretary; Reba Rash, assistant secretary; Cady Stockburger, reporter; and Sarah Kovar assistant reporter.
