Discussion continues for shared superintendent 03.10.2010
Following a strategy meeting Monday night, the school boards of Morenci and Hudson scheduled a pair of special meetings to present a plan for a shared superintendent of schools.
Committees from both schools met Monday in Hudson to discuss details of a proposal to share a superintendent. The plan calls for Hudson’s superintendent, Dr. Michael Osborne, to serve both school districts in an effort to trim expenditures.
Morenci board president Scott Merillat said the meeting went well and the committees are ready to review a tentative Dual Superintendency Cooperative Agreement with the public next week.
Meetings are scheduled at 6 p.m. Monday in Hudson and at 7:30 p.m. in Morenci. Morenci’s meeting, Merillat said, is special meeting only to discuss the superintendent issue.
Following the resignation of Kyle Griffith last month, Morenci is operating with high school principal Nate Parker as the interim superintendent.
Dr. Osborne is in his first year as Hudson superintendent after serving as high school/middle school principal for the past 10 years.
