Fayette History Day termed a success 11.18.09
Good conversation, lots of information, plenty to look at.
Fayette’s History Day attracted about 100 visitors Saturday at the Opera House, and more people visited Sunday after the Glasgow Organ Series performance.
“She had one album done and had 20 pages started on another one,” Fix said, so she began the process of organizing various records into a collection of albums.
Other people contributing items were Woody Hibbard, Randy Scott, Dave Schaffner, Jim Fallon, David Lauffer, Jane Stiriz and Tom Spiess.
Fix is hoping to make History Day an annual event and she thinks the history Opera House makes a good location.
She recently discovered a box of her mother’s history book and 25 copies were sold Saturday. Proceeds were donated to the Fine Arts Council. The Council also sold food at the event to raise funds.
Future meetings of the Fayette Historical Preservation Group will be listed in the Observer.
